Stigmuh: Vol 01

Part of

Academic Project

Image Treatment, Layout Design

Stigmuh is a zine catered to open-minded individuals, centred around strong imageries, image manipulation, and experimental layouts. It aims to debunk stereotypes of vices and stigmatic notions. In Volume 01 the subject topic revolves around subject of Greed.

By using black and white images, the contents of the zine are stripped down to its simplest form, taking away the preconceptions of colours. Image manipulation techniques like texture, juxtaposition, scanography, and collages are then used on the images to create meaning, question interpretations and evoke thought and exploration. Scrap paper collected from the image manipulations is also scanned and designed as the book cover to show a glimpse of the zine’s process.
